...with a small c
I hate it when people can't open their minds. Some people are just so set in their ways that they convince themselves that what they think is right. 'Its tradition' is possibly the worst excuse for doing something in the History of man! For example, I was innocently talking to someone the other day who turned out to be a devout christian. Now I have no problem with that. I'm not religious myself, but if someone wants to do the religion thing thats fine by me. But this idiot (-ess, it was a woman) couldn't even conduct a conversation without starting every sentence with "Jesus says...". eventually I got annoyed and said "I don't wanna know what Jesus thinks, I wanna know what YOU think!" ARGH! Now this rant isn't about religion in particular. Sure, I could rant about religion if I wanted to, but I don't. Its about people being unable to think for themselves. In this case she couldn't think for herself without thinking "what does the Bible say about this?". The worst thing is when people go along with something they don't believe in because they are scared to think for themselves. Its just too easy to let other people tell you what to think. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, so WHY don't people use it? I'm fed up of hearing the same old excuses. So what if 'everyone' says this is the way to do things? What does it matter? even if the whole world disagrees with you it does not mean that you are wrong! Every major idea and discovery in History came from one person who was willing to think things that noone else was thinking. I'm fed up of hearing the same old opinions regurgatated because its easier to think the same as everyone else does. Think for yourselves people, don't take what others say for read. Yes this rant has been provoked by a certain incident with a certain person but thats not important. Rah!
